  • Ongoing statutory incentive

    R&D Corporation Tax Credit

    A tax credit for qualifying scientific or technological R&D expenditure. It is not a grant, and qualification depends on the activities, expenditure and evidence.

    Check firstThe accounting period, claim history, current Revenue tests, pre-filing requirement and evidence position.

    TimingClaims are generally due within 12 months after the accounting-period end. Some first-time or returning claimants must notify Revenue at least 90 days before claiming.

    Innovation Voucher

    A practical first route for an SME with a defined innovation question that needs input from an approved public knowledge provider.

    TimingThe official page describes a €10,000 standard voucher and a co-funded route for projects up to €20,000, subject to conditions.

    For a substantial in-company R&D project developing a product or service where the work involves a genuine technical challenge and a step-up in R&D capability.

    TimingNo fixed closing date is published. The official page says to contact the relevant agency adviser and apply before work starts.
